How the day is built and run
The whole point is to move a full athletic department through in one day without a squad ever standing idle. The plan is built before the day and driven from the dashboard on the day.

A building that supports three or four setups runs them in parallel: while one squad is at the posed portrait station, another is at the action / hero-shot backdrop, and a third is at the team-composite setup. The scheduler packs blocks across every station at once, so the constraint is the slowest station’s window, not the sum of every team shot one at a time. That is what makes a whole department fit into a single day.
Varsity and JV, every sport, one calendar
The day covers the whole department: varsity and JV rosters for every sport in season, plus the squads that do not always make the schedule — the freshman teams, the co-op programs. Each is a block on the same calendar. A sport with a varsity and a JV roster can be sequenced back to back so the two squads are shot with the same setup while it is dialed in, or split across the day if the gym is needed for practice in between.
Posed and action stations on the same block
A team block can route through more than one station: the posed team composite and individual portraits at one setup, the action or hero-shot frames at another. The block carries the route, so the coach knows their squad owes two stops, and the dashboard knows a team is not cleared until it has been through both. No athlete is marked done on a partial pass.
Buffers absorb the team that runs late
A bus that arrives ten minutes late is the normal case, not the exception. Blocks carry a buffer between arrival and first frame, and the dashboard shows the athletic director the slack in the schedule in real time. When a team slips, the board shows whether the next block can absorb it or whether a waiting squad should be pulled forward to a free station to keep the floor busy.
